ARA reloads rise; stocks ease from peaks as inventories reshuffled

Coal stockpiles at the five key terminals in the Amsterdam- Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) hub have fallen by 7% since the end of September to 8.27 mt on 26 November, pulled down in part as stockholders reload cargoes for Ukraine, the Mediterranean and Asia. ARA terminals have reloaded around 0.80 mt of bulk cargo, understood largely to be thermal and metallurgical coal between August until the end of November to Ukraine, Italy, Hong Kong and Turkey, according to flow data from IHS Markit’s Commodities At Sea (CAS).
