Indian Railways’ (IR) coal loadings in October bucked the falling trend of the previous two months, as domestic coal production and dispatches from mines to rail loading points improved as the monsoon ended. Coal haulage by rail usually drops in the June-September monsoon, but this year’s monsoon lasted longer than normal, finishing in mid-October.
