Korean tendering robust as generators stock for winter

Korean tendering activity has been relatively robust in the latest fortnight, as generators look to secure tonnage for the end of the year and first quarter of 2020. Korea South-East Power (KOEN) bought Australian and Indonesian thermal coal through four spot tenders for supplies for the Samcheonpo, Yeongheung and Yeosu power plants. Vitol won tender SP15 and will provide a December loading Panamax (80,000 t) of Australian 5,600 kc NAR min material, with no more than 28% max moisture, 17% max ash and 0.6% max sulphur, at around $59.00/t FOB Newcastle, basis 6,080 kc NAR.
