The door seems to be opening to let more United States-origin metallurgical coal into Europe this fall than many were expecting. The same can’t be said for thermal coal. Some US sources even believe the numbers being seen currently – and they aren’t really good numbers – are to be the lay of the land well into the second quarter of next year and maybe even longer.
