Met markets lift on Chinese return

Chinese spot buying roared back to life in the last two weeks, with spot prices up by $15-17/t across the suite of hard coking coal products assessed by IHS Markit. In the week to date, three buyer tenders were awarded, including premium mid-vol Peak Downs North/Riverside cargoes, done at $125.85/t, $128.75/t and around $128.00/t CFR China, all for 85,000 t cargo loading in October.
