Colombia’s ANM rejects Prodeco’s suspension request

Colombia’s National Mining Agency (ANM) has rejected the recent petition by Glencore’s Prodeco unit to shut down operations at its Calenturitas and La Jagua mines, but has left the door open for the miner to appeal the decision. The ANM’s ruling was issued almost three weeks ago, but was first sent to the government’s legal defense agency to ensure that it met all legal requirements, and only this week did it oicially reply to Prodeco.
