A bullish iron ore market brought a rebound in freight rates for Capes this week, but Panamaxes pulled back. The voyage chartering rate for Capes traveling from Newcastle to South China stood at $11.60/t, jumping from $10.80/t in the week before. Panamax rates for the Newcastle to South China route were assessed at $12.00/t this week, declining from $12.20/t a week ago. Panamax voyage charter rates from South Kalimantan to South China stood at $6.00/t, dropping from $6.10/t in the previous week. Supramax rates on the same route were $6.50/t, ?at from last week.
