As scrap availability from Europe and the United States rises on improved manufacturing activity, Turkish scrap prices are expected to soften in the next few weeks after the recent uptick just before the Eid holidays. “Scrap prices could soften by 2-3% as collections increase in the EU and US. The prices of scrap are high and once European scrap deliveries into Turkey increase, prices could go down,” a local steel source said.
