Colombia Jan-July met coke exports up 10%

Colombia’s metallurgical coke exports rose 10% in the first seven months of the year to 1.98 mt from 1.80 mt in the same period last year, according to IHS Markit data. Despite reduced mining activity during the country’s COVID-19 lockdown period, coke producers and exporters managed to increase exports this year thanks to inventory management both at ports and coke plants. Mining as well as transportation and port services were exempt from the lockdown measures. Exports in July fell to 0.24 mt, from 0.29 mt in June but ?at from a year ago.
