Adaro coal output, sales volume down on year in H1

Indonesia’s second largest miner, Adaro Energy, recorded a 4% drop in its output for the first half of 2020. In January-June, Adaro mined 27.29 mt, down from 28.47 mt in the corresponding period last year. “The strong start that we had in Q1 20 was followed by a contrasting weak period in Q2 20 as we experienced a prolonged rainy season at our operational areas and lower demand due to the slower global economy and lower industrial electricity demand as a result of COVID-19 lockdowns,” the company said.
