China: Major urea volume set to load for India

While the final quantity of urea to be shipped from China to India pursuant to awards for 1.81 Mt issued by MMTC in the November 14 tender is yet to be determined, a major quantity is set to load from Chinese ports by the January 7 MMTC deadline. Current estimates are that a total of about 750,000 t may be shipped from Chinese ports. This assumes that Middle East tonnage to MMTC will account for about 620,000 t, that Egypt will ship at least 200,000 t, that Algeria and the FSU may load about 100,000 t each, and that some tonnage will also emerge from other suppliers, possibly including Nigeria.
