Mid. East: Assessment unchanged pending new sales

Spot prices for sulphur exports from the Middle East were assessed unchanged at an indicative basis at $165-170/t pending fresh spot business. This week’s $2/t decline in freight rates for 30-35,000 t cargoes from the Middle East to China to a $19/t average is positive for the FOB price, but even at this level, recent sales in China no higher than the low $180s/t CFR would not provide any positive margin.
