India: Apr-Aug urea output and sales up, imports down

Domestic output of urea in India from April through August reached 9.98 Mt, up by 3.5% on the 9.64 Mt produced in the same months in 2017, according to the latest FAI data. Sales of 12.58 Mt were ahead 2.8% year on year, while imports over the period of 2.64 Mt were down by 4%. Domestic output in August of 2.01 Mt was down 4.2% on August 2017, while sales were up 1.5% to 3.03 Mt. August imports declined 30.6% year on year to 325,000 t in August 2018.
