US NOLA: Barge indications move up

Higher inland resale prices and replacement costs have pushed up indications for US Gulf barges this week, in no small part because of expectations of more corn planting next spring at the expense of soybean acres. Overall, New Orleans ammonia increased an average of $11/st to $303-305/st FOB. The main change was the disappearance of discounted offers in the key Midwest end user market. Even though growers are weeks and months away from harvest work, their retail suppliers anticipate more ammonia use this fall in support of corn and other crops.
