US: H1 acid imports up 7% to 1.5 Mt

US imports of sulphuric acid for the first half of 2018 were up 7% year on year to 1.5 Mt, according to data via IHS Markit. Canada and Mexico remained the main sources of imports with 947,773 t and 223,053 t, though the volume from Canada was down 3,318 t and the volume from Mexico was down 28,218 t.
