Latin America remained the focus of sulphuric acid spot markets this week, as requirements for several buyers in Chile and Brazil were yet to be met. The price assessment range for Brazil was increased slightly to $105-110/t CFR from $100-110/t as all recent deals have been within the higher range. Sources believe that, in addition to recent purchases by Mosaic, Yara, and Timac, all main Brazilian buyers still have requirements for the remainder of the year. Although buyers are resisting current high prices given their tight margins, it is unlikely they will be able to find lower-priced tonnes over the coming weeks.
