USA: October surge expands export trend

A more than 150% increase in October 2017 urea exports versus October 2016 expanded on the trend seen during the prior months of the current US fertilizer year that has seen a more than 420% leap in urea shipments from the US versus the July-October of 2016, according to the latest data provided by the US Department of Commerce. October 2017 US urea exports were 52,449 st (47,581 mt) up from 20,811 st (18,880 mt) during October 2016. The lions' shares for US urea exports during October 2017 and October 2016 went to Canada at 49,164 st and 18,110 st respectively.
