Brazil: gMOP prices pegged higher but activity slow

Granular MOP prices are assessed higher in Brazil this week although market participants describe a lack of activity for now. Some buyers report that they expect higher offer levels from suppliers in the coming weeks and months. Price indications fell within the range of $250-260/mt CFR, with most sources reporting that $250-255/mt CFR is the most common business level. Still, suppliers are reported to be offering no lower than $255/mt CFR - a level that buyers have said will be difficult for them to secure less than for May shipment onwards. April shipment may have been agreed in the low $250s/mt CFR, according to one buyer.
