Pakistan: June urea offtake up 81.3% year on year

Urea offtake in Pakistan in June 2020 at 1.12 Mt was up 81.3% on the same month a year earlier, according to the latest assessments by the National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC). The higher offtake was mainly attributed to the discount of PKR 50 ($0.30)/bag or $6/t offered to farmers by domestic producers, and the 33% reduction in offtake over the preceding five months. The resulting April-June offtake close to 1.65 Mt was up 7.8% on the same months in 2019.
