China: Domestic urea prices start to rebound

Domestic Chinese urea prices rebounded this week following weeks of downward adjustments. Demand is emerging for urea applied to corn in Northern China and as side dress on early rice crops in Eastern and Southern China. Mainstream transaction prices in prilled urea rose by RMB 30/t ($4/t) to RMB 1,580-1,600/t ($222-225/t) EXW in Shandong and Henan, while a few producers further increased offers by RMB 10/t ($1.40/mt) on May 20 to RMB 1,610/t ($227/t) EXW Shandong.
