Middle East: Netbacks pressured by high freights, demand

Spot prices for sulphur exports from the Middle East were assessed unchanged at $57-64/t FOB, though netbacks at these levels would be difficult to achieve on new spot sales. Most market players doubt whether FOB prices in the $60s/t are realistic in the current market. As previously reported, Muntajat's June 16 tender for 35,000 t was awarded around the upper end of the range, though many market participants were surprised how high the price was.
