Mediterranean: Prices steady as market quietens

Spot prices for sulphur cargoes of 10,000 t or less in the Mediterranean region were assessed unchanged at $60-70/t CFR and $40-48/t FOB as the market was quiet this week. Although there was some demand reported, buyers appeared to be more comfortable than they were a couple of weeks ago, and are unwilling to accept prices above the mid-$60s/t CFR. Arrivals of larger cargoes from the Middle East and FSU to destinations such as Egypt, Tunisia and Israel appear to have eased tightness in the region.
