US N. Plains/Great Lakes: Uncooperative weather prevails

Top-dress demand for granular urea in the Northern Plains and the Great Lakes is not underway in force yet due to rain in the last few weeks. Postings in the Dakotas still are reported around $315/st DEL. North Dakota is one of the few states where corn planting is significantly trailing the five-year average, according to the May 26 US Crop Progress report. The agency's May 24 survey reported 54% of the state's expected crop was sown versus the 79% average.
