Panamax average earnings (82,500 dwt) slipped by $833/day over the past two weeks to the lowest level since February at $5,999/day at time of writing, according to Baltic Exchange assessments. Atlantic Panamax demand benefitted from a surge in Brazilian soya exports to a record 18.0 Mt in April, more than 4 Mt higher than the previous monthly high in May 2018.
