The softer trend in ammonia highlighted in recent weeks now appears set to prevail through to year-end with ample supply continuing to overwhelm steady albeit not exciting demand. Repeated reports of a disappointing direct fall ammonia application season in the US owing to a late harvest and poor weather conditions, plus weaker prices globally prompted a $10/t fall in the Tampa December settlement agreed between Yara and Mosaic.
