US NOLA: Short week leaves urea weaker

Despite the US domestic market still having most of the demand for top and side-dress nitrogen applications still to go, urea barge prices slipped again this week. US traders reported granular urea barge business at $244-247/st FOB New Orleans. Some of the softness is credited to a preference by traders to not add physical positions over what will be a four-day weekend for many, thanks to the July 4 Independence Day holiday.
