Nitrates and Sulphates: UAN price rises on GrodnoAzot tender award

UAN-30 at Rouen was stable once again this week with little fresh activity reported, while GrodnoAzot returned to the market with only its second UAN tender of the year. The benchmark Rouen spot is pegged unchanged at €175-177/t FCA. GrodnoAzot awarded its 20,000 t August 8 UAN tender at $165/t FOB Baltic Sea to a major trader, according to market sources. Baltic Sea is assessed at $160-165/t FOB with the high end representing the Grodno sale and the low the possibility of other business. The substantial week-on-week increase from $120-125/t FOB is due to the fact that EU anti- dumping duties do not apply to Grodno's UAN sales. Last week's price represented the EU dutiable price for Russian product that is subject to duties.
