Europe: Spot assessment steady in balanced market

Spot prices for sulphuric acid exports from Europe were assessed unchanged at $30-40/t FOB Northwest Europe on an indicative basis. Sellers were relatively comfortable and under little pressure to shift spot cargoes, sources said. Although recent sales to Brazil in the low $60s/t CFR would net back around the low end of the range at most, it is unlikely that newly agreed spot purchases by traders would be achievable below $30/t FOB.
