Mosaic Q2 weighed down by wet spring, phosphate margins

Mosaic posted a net loss of $233.1 million for the second quarter of 2019 as results were hit by lower phosphates margins and a very wet spring season, the producer said August 6. The loss, which includes a $284 million non-cash after-tax charge for the permanent closure of the Plant City phosphate facility, compares with earnings of $67.9 million during the same period last year.
