Middle East: Spot assessment lowered further

Spot prices for sulphur exports from the Middle East were again assessed down at $50-55/t FOB from $50-65/t, as there was limited support for the higher prices. Most traders pegged prices in the low-to-mid-$50s/t FOB, though some believed there was little appetite for cargoes above the $40s/t FOB. Though the upper end of the indicative India assessment at $83/t CFR could in theory provide netbacks up to the mid-$60s/t FOB, new spot sales to India are unlikely to come this high.
