Spot prices for sulphuric acid cargoes to the US Gulf were assessed unchanged at $60-70/t CFR on an indicative basis, as the spot market remained quiet. Although freight rates from Europe to the US have increased in recent weeks, the published ranges still line up. With FOB spot prices from Europe pegged no higher than the $30s/t FOB NW Europe, delivered prices from Europe to the US Gulf would be unlikely to be higher than the $60s/t CFR given freights around $31-33/t for 17-20,000 t cargoes, a rate that has increased from $25-27/t in early October.
