Brazil: Jan-July granular phosphate imports up 37%

Brazil imported 5.0 Mt granular phosphates (DAP/MAP/TSP/SSP/NPK/NP and NPS) in the first seven months of 2019, a 37% rise year on year (or roughly 1.4 Mt higher) with large increases in all products except DAP, according to IHS Markit data. MAP imports in the first seven months of 2019 rose 37% year on year to 1.9 Mt, with volumes from Russia down 9.5% to 422,951 t, volumes from the US up 54% to 402,847 t, imports from Saudi Arabia rising 61% to 390,141 t and volumes from Morocco up 64% to 558,757 t.
