Tunisia is targeting an increase in Gafsa Phosphates Company (CPG) phosphate rock production from roughly 4.1 Mt in 2019 to 5.5-6.0 Mt in 2020, according to MENAFN. Tunisia's Minister of Industry Slim Feriani added that the company is targeting its highest production since 2011 on December 16. Feriani also said the company recently reopened its Meknassi phosphate mine in Sidi Bouzid, which had been blocked since 2013. In October, CPG ruled out the possibility of achieving its targeted 6 Mt phosphate rock production in 2019.
