China: MOP imports still at record high

China’s April imports of MOP increased 22% year on year to 990,046 t, leaving the volume for the first four months up 11% at a record-high 3.94 Mt, according to updated data from IHS Markit. In January-April, China imported 1.49 Mt MOP from Canada, up 13% year on year. Arrivals from Russia over the first four months rose 6% to 1.0 Mt while those from Belarus increased 4% to 762,337 t, the trade data show.
