Shell and PetroChina target Surat gas FID after APLNG agrees QCLNG tolling deal

Shell and PetroChina have secured a route to market for stranded gas resources in the Surat basin after offtaker Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) finalised a new tolling agreement with Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) to use shared infrastructure to process the gas for domestic east coast markets and for export. Under the terms of the agreement, QCLNG will be able to transport and process gas from fields in the Surat basin owned by Arrow Energy - a 50/50 joint venture between Shell and PetroChina - using available capacity in existing APLNG- QCLNG joint infrastructure.
