FRANCE: Air Liquide has opened a new biomethane production unit in south-west France that will supply its multi-energy fuelling station in the area using biogas produced from organic matter from surrounding farms. The biomethane is injected into Air Liquide’s multi-energy station that distributes bio-NGV (natural gas for vehicles). The station can refuel up to 100 trucks daily and, by the end of 2018, the station will also supply liquid nitrogen to trucks equipped with cryogenic coolers used for the refrigerated transport of food products, without emitting CO2 nor particulates, Air Liquide said. The company operates 10 biomethane production units worldwide with production capacity of 60 MW, or 500 GWh/year. To date, Air Liquide has rolled out more than 60 bio-NGV stations around the world.
