Mubadala dips toe in US LNG as NextDecade delays FID at Rio Grande until early 2020

Abu Dhabi’s sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company is taking a punt on the US LNG ‘second wave’ by making a modest equity investment in NextDecade. But today's agreement contains no indication that Mubadala nor any of its partial subsidiaries might commit to buy LNG from the company’s flagship Rio Grande LNG project in Texas, for which a final investment decision (FID) has been delayed into early 2020 as the hunt for elusive buyers continues.
