Asian demand growth to bring ‘golden gas years’ to 2024, then slow down - IEA

The global natural gas industry can look forward to strong demand growth over the coming five years but must remain mindful of two big challenges - the need to remain competitive in price- sensitive emerging economies and to cut methane emissions in the supply chain, according to the International Energy Agency. The IEA said in its annual five-year natural gas forecast, Gas 2019, that demand is expected to rise more than 10% by 2024 to reach over 4.3 Tcm - with Asia the main growth driver, notably China.
