Noble sanctions Alen gas project in hope of creating Equatorial Guinea LNG ‘hub’

Noble Energy has sanctioned its Alen gas project offshore Equatorial Guinea (EG) that will see a 70 km pipeline built to connect the resource to onshore processing facilities including the EGLNG export plant. The pipeline development raises the prospects for the government’s ambition to create an LNG hub, officials have said, as it could connect additional discovered resources through existing infrastructure. However, industry sources suggest developing a hub in Africa is not as straightforward as it might seem.
