Shell wins BHP’s tender to supply LNG to world’s first LNG-fuelled bulk carriers

Australian mining giant BHP has awarded Shell an LNG supply contract, under which the Anglo- Dutch major will refuel the world’s first LNG-fuelled Newcastlemax bulk carriers, BHP announced on Tuesday. The LNG bunkering operations on the five vessels will be conducted in Singapore, which poses a setback to Western Australia’s plans to make the state an international LNG bunkering hub.
