The Trump administration is facing potentially years of litigation after launching plans to tear up federal environmental regulations in a bid to expedite development of key infrastructure including gas pipelines, LNG plants, power stations and transmission lines. The White House yesterday unveiled wide-ranging amendments to the scope of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations, including contentious plans to scrap the analysis of cumulative impacts and those effects deemed to arise as an indirect consequence of a project being built.
