Gazprom ‘loses USD 1.5 billion price dispute with PGNiG’ over Yamal contract

Gazprom has lost its high-stakes pricing dispute with Poland’s PGNiG and has been ordered to repay the Polish company almost USD 1.5 billion in backdated overpayments under a new pricing formula linked to western European benchmarks. PGNiG said it will use the cash to accelerate its efforts to diversify away from Russian gas to meet Poland’s energy needs.
