UK North Sea job cuts are expected to lessen this year despite some forecasting that oil prices could hold below USD 75-80/barrel until at least 2020, according to an industry survey by the Bank of Scotland. The bank surveyed 141 UK oil and gas producers and suppliers, 40% of whom agreed with that outlook, and with prices having dipped to 13-year lows this past January, 51% of respondents said they had cut jobs over the last year.
