Kosmos Energy has made a further gas discovery offshore Senegal’s capital Dakar, following the completion of the Teranga-1 exploration well, the company said on Monday. The Teranga-1 was the company’s fifth consecutive successful exploration and appraisal well, drilled to the water depth of nearly 4,500 metres. Kosmos has discovered a gross mean resource of 25 Tcf of gas following the five successful appraisal wells, and estimates total resource potential at 50 Tcf in the 200-kilometre fairway off the coast of Mauritania.
