Hermes profits hit record high

All praise the Birkin bag; Hermes sales have soared 23% in the last year- the figure is reduced to 16% at constant exchange rates- with revenues accelerating to ?3.48bn, considerably better than the ?3.42bn figure originally predicted by some analysts for the French luxury group. In total, sales growth in the last three months of the year climbed 18.5%, compared with 15.7% in the third quarter and 13.4% in the second quarter. This means record profitability for 2012, though numbers won't be released until 21 March.
