China's affluent east coast province of Zhejiang leads the country in terms of online sales of cosmetics, according to the country's leading web retailer, Taobao. Women there spent 640m yuan (US$101 m) buying cosmetics online in the first half of this year, ahead of their fashion-conscious rivals in Shanghai and Jiangsu, who spent 620m yuan and 510m yuan.
