Eni spuds Oman deepwater well

Italian operator Eni has kicked off the first deepwater explor-ation well offshore Oman. Eni has not yet confirmed this well, although reports have suggested drilling is now underway. Late last year, Eni hired the Pacific Drilling-owned Pacific Bora drillship for one firm well offshore Oman. The duration of the well was estimated at 30 days. The contract included a US $5m mobilisation fee and a $5m demobilisation fee.
