Global demand to hit 100m b/d

World oil consumption will reach 100m b/d later this year – which is much sooner than previously forecast, OPEC’s secretary-general said. Mohammad Barkindo also told delegates at a conference in Cape Town, South Africa, that a sta- ble environment was needed to encourage oil industry investment to meet the rising demand.
