Equinor has handed Transocean a six-well contract for the semisubmersible rig Transocean Norge to operate on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). Under the deal, the rig will spend around 300 days drilling on the NCS. The contract is expected to start in July 2019. Transocean said that the contract backlog is around US $89m, excluding a bonus opportunity and other services. The contract includes four one-well options.
