The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has handed Statoil a drilling permit for well exploration well 16/1-29 S in Production Licence 167 (PL 167) offshore Norway. Well 16/1-29 S will be drilled using the Deepsea Bergen drilling facility. Statoil is the operator of PL 167 with a 80% stake, while Lundin Norway holds a 20% stake. PL 167 was awarded in March 1991 under Norway’s 13th Round.
